A Short Thought to Stretch Your Spirit…! Don’t miss this.
Matthew 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread.
Okay, this is a very short verse. Read it again please…
Matthew 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread.
I have a very strong, almost prophetic sense this morning that the people of God need to be reminded of the power of living with a “this day” mentality.
Jesus Himself was instructing His disciples to focus on THIS DAY when it comes to our entire life being sustained. Daily bread means a lot of things. The God of heaven surely wants us full and flourishing in every area of life. He desires that we fully receive our portion of our daily bread for every spiritual, mental, relational, emotional, social and financial desire we have in our heart. Give us this day our daily bread certainly transcends a request for natural food only. It has to do with everything relating to the sustenance of the entirety of our lives!
I want to say by the Spirit of God, to the one who is concerned about next week’s bills, please focus on this day. To the one questioning whether the business deal or interview will be successful—hello sir, hello ma’am, come back to the center and focus on this day. To not do so is a distraction campaign orchestrated by the very enemy of your soul.
Listen to this verse out of the message translation.
Matthew 6:34 (MSG) "Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don't get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.”
People of God! Pull it in! Pull your thoughts in. Pull your anxiety in. Pull your speeding heart and mind in over what may or may not happen in the future. Pull your distractions OVER tomorrow and next week or next month in..! Come on people--exhale! Exhale in faith in Jesus the Christ! Don’t miss what He wants to show you, teach you or do for you today! Embrace this day and make the most of it!
Consider what is really happening with you right now. Are you okay? Did you wake up this morning? Can you still breathe? Well then, life is good. As I often tell our awesome church, “if there is breath, then there is hope”—Hallelujah! It’s not over till your breathing stops--- keep it moving in Jesus’ mighty name…LOL!
Be grateful for this day! Enjoy every breathing moment of it… it’s all you’ve got.
