Be about the Father’s business…
In today’s world people have so much going on. This applies to the people of God as well as those who do not yet know our loving Lord. The question is often asked, how are you doing? Often times the reply comes back as “I’m taking care of business”, or some would say, “I am handling MY business”…
This was true in the day the Apostle Paul lived on earth. Notice this passage.
Php 2:20 For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state.
Php 2:21 For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's.
Wow! What an indictment against the church of that day! Here we have arguably one of the most important Apostles to ever live making a statement that only Timothy could be counted on. This servant of God was not after his own thing.
The Apostle Paul said the following in the next verse:
(Php 2:22) But ye know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the gospel.
Timothy was given the high honor of serving Paul like a son. What a privilege! I believe it was because he put God’s business before his own.
CONSIDER THIS: What if you made a decision to always be about our Heavenly Father’s business? What greater value would you add to the Kingdom of God? I’m assure that when you make the shift, God Himself will be about your business!

This is a great subject text especially in the hour that we are living in. However, what would you say to a person who believed that she was about the business of her father - helping the downtrodden receive the mental assistance needed. I was working contractual through a juvenile assessment center assisiting families who had a child removed from the home for negligence or some type of abuse. I worked 13 weeks before receiving a full pay check. I believed that I was called to this profession and it lined up with a prophectic word that I had received a year earlier so I perservered.
However, after I insisted on regular payments for the counseling services rendered, my contract was terminated with no reason given. My clients were upset but I still behaved in a professional manner towards the person responsible. What does God have to say about this? And what about all the time I spent serving these families? The agency owes me over $2500 in services and no one will respond to the letters I have sent.
Sherry... Was it a contractual agreement or a personal understanding? what was the basis for you providing the service? if you had a contract then you are not wrong to communicate with those responsible for payment. Do so in love and confidence. The word says the Laborer is worthy of his reward. 1 Tim 5:18 God Bless!
